Bath Time Fun

We love bath time around here. It makes Wesley the happiest he is all day and Emry wants to stay in forever to play. She always asks me if we are having a "slow bath" or a "fast bath" which basically just means are we washing her hair or not. She is a funny little girl and I love her too much! Really, bath time is the best part of everyone's day!!

Emry loves her new bath towel Aunt Laura made for her. She always says she is "Princess Emry" when she is wearing it.

Snuggles after baths

 Every time after we get out of the bath Emry has to look in the mirror and she says, "Who's that King and Princess in the mirror?!?!" (Daddy and Emry). And then when Wesley and I look in the mirror with them she says, "Who's that Queen and Prince?" It's darling and I hope she always knows that she is a little Princess and we love her so much!

Let's just say this girl has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger times 10! 

8 Months: Wesley

Oh my baby is getting big. He is at a really fun age right now and I'm loving it! Can't believe I get to call him mine! Here's a list of things he's doing lately...

These two are just too cute!! Wesley always loves to watch Emry. 

*The baby blues still get me every time his big eyes look up at me. He just kills me with his cuteness!!
*Still wearing size 3 diapers and wears mostly 6-12 month clothes.
*Loves to laugh at Emry. His favorites are when she sneezes, talks to him, laughs at him, or jumps on her bed and then falls down--he thinks that is particularly funny! Any time she is being silly, he thinks it's pretty funny!
*Loves bath time. He gets so excited when he hears the water come on he shakes with excitement. Hilarious and pretty cute.
*Has 2 teeth (and working on #3)--his 2 bottom teeth. He got his first one at about 7 1/2 months and the second one followed closely after.
*Learning how to eat new things every day. He still eats whatever we are eating but he prefers me to feed him mashed up food with a spoon. He doesn't really love to feed himself. Although he does like to chew on bread and graham crackers a lot. I have to watch him pretty closely still though because he usually "bites" off more than he can swallow. He doesn't like it when I take his food away.
*Doing great with bottles. He finally will take a bottle from a babysitter, which has been such a relief for me. So nice knowing that he will be fine if we have to leave him.
*Sleeping much better...kinda. He is officially sleeping through the night but he has been getting up really early (like 6 or 630). Makes us really tired. But he is sleeping from 7-630 so that's pretty good. Maybe he will just make us early risers.
*Takes 2 naps now (about 2 hours each).
*Started to try to get up on his hands and knees. Still not really very close to crawling, but we're working on it.
*He has been trying to pull himself up on things lately.
*Loves to be tickled and I will do it all day because I love to hear his little giggle! It's that cutest!

7 Months: Wesley

Oh how I love this little man. He's just getting cuter and cuter.

*Sits like a pro now
*Doesn't really love to be on his tummy anymore. He doesn't cry, he just immediately rolls over to his back. I try to prop things next to him so he can't roll over or lay in front of him so he has me to look at so he'll stay on his tummy longer. This little boy needs some crawling practice! haha
*Not even close to crawling... We'll have to work on that I guess. I know most people don't look forward to their kids being mobile because that means they are into everything (which is true) but I'm actually excited for when he can crawl around and get what he actually wants. We'll see how much I really love it when he finally does it!
*Takes 3 naps during the day
*Wakes up at least once during the night. We were doing pretty good and then we went to California for the holidays and I couldn't really let him cry so now he gets up again. I'm tired!! He's been doing a little better lately but still up once to eat... Goes down around 8 and is up for good around 7 (and eats sometimes between 4 and 5)
*Loves to be tickled and kissed all over his face and neck. It makes him laugh and laugh. It's adorable!
*Emry is his absolute favorite!
*Started recognizing his name. If you call "Wesley" he looks at you. Getting smart!!
*Smiles the biggest when he sees me! He is fine going to other people, but keeps his biggest grins for when I look at him and smile. Maybe he's a mamma's boy!
*Wearing size 6-12 months clothes, or 9 month in some stuff
*Size 3 diapers 
*I think he had a growth spurt over the holidays. He just seems bigger to me than last month.
*Started taking a sippy cup with water in it when he eats his food. I'm hoping that means we are close to him maybe taking a bottle one day... I haven't tried for a couple of months so who knows!
*Eats and eats and eats. He loves real food. If he sees me eating, he grunts like "Hey! I want some!!" It's hilarious. He will basically eat whatever we eat for dinner. I just feed him from my plate. 
*Still has the best blue eyes. I'm still so smitten by them!

LA Temple Lights

Emry was excited to go see the temple that Grandma and Grandpa Whitaker got married in so we took a trip over the holidays to see the lights at the LA temple. It was great and wonderfully warm!

 Ryan left town earlier in the day so it was just us 3 at the temple. Love this family of mine. 

Day at the Park

We spent Saturday at Brian and Kelli's house going on a little hike to the park. It was a fun, relaxing day. I'll let the pictures explain how much fun we had!

Christmas Day

Oh Christmas day is so much fun! All the kids woke up really early (because of the time change, the kids were up early every morning) but we were waiting until Jeff and Scott got there at 7 to open present. So we hung out on Grandma's bed playing with nativities and taking pictures.

We got all cleaned up and headed over to Grandma Donna's house for Christmas breakfast. One of the best parts of Christmas!
