People celebrate holidays differently. For some, Christmas is a fancy holiday where you get dressed up and have a nice dinner. For others, it is a time to never change out of your pajamas and to simply relax all day long. (This is a completely different story all-together for another time).
Easter, however, I thought was pretty simple. The "Easter bunny" (aka whoever is the morning person who can get up early and hide eggs) hides eggs and the others in the house who like sleeping in more get to find the eggs. Easter baskets are enjoyed and Easter dinner is had! However, I realized I might have been wrong about Easter being so simple. I have been reading other people's blogs and realized there are a ton of people who actually hide the Easter basket! I have never heard of such a thing. Who would have thought that you look through the house for a basket full of gifts? Not me. Maybe I have a new tradition for next year...
LOL. Growing up we never hid baskets, we woke up and they were right there! But, I had to hide all the treats from Brandon for so long I just think he should work for it :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait until there are kids to hide the eggs from!
ReplyDeleteThe Easter Bunny totally always hid our Easter Baskets, and that was always the FUNNEST part of Easter morning! And as we got older, that darned bunny got cleverer. He used to bring us a movie or a bathing suit and stuff with our baskets. Once I even got one of those blow up, punchy rabbits, the kind that sit on the floor, but are full of air and when you hit it it bounces back at you. That was a good year.
ReplyDeleteHaha! So true! It's interesting to me how every family has their traditions and they don't even consider them to be traditions, just the normal thing. In my husband's family they colored eggs, hid them and had the egg hunts all on the first day of spring. That way Easter was reserved for the celebration of the resurrection of Christ.
ReplyDeleteso cute and funny!!! i love that you hide the eggs from ryan!!! i remember you telling me this last year and thinking it was so funny!...you did it last year right, or am i dreaming? i do that sometimes... anyway. you guys are cute, your lucky babies!!!
ReplyDeleteHa, ha! We always had to look hard for our baskets. Sometimes it took an hour to find them all, cuz our Easter Bunny was so clever. I'm still not sure what the purpose is behind hiding eggs anyway. Our favorite part was coloring the eggs and making cool designs, but on Easter we ate the candy and tossed the hard boiled eggs :)
