"They knew that they could trust God—even if things didn’t turn out the way they hoped. They knew that faith is more than mental assent, more than an acknowledgment that God lives. Faith is total trust in Him.
"Faith is believing that although we do not understand all things, He does. Faith is knowing that although our power is limited, His is not. Faith in Jesus Christ consists of complete reliance on Him."
A friend of mine just posted a great talk on her blog called "But If Not..." It is such a wonderful talk. I think that there are times in our life when we have the faith for something to happen but perhaps it is still not God's will for us. Sometimes we have to have faith in Heavenly Father's plan even if that is not how we want our lives to go. It is hard to have faith in the "but if not's" but it is during those times that we truly grow and are able to become the people Heavenly Father wants us to be. He truly does know best.
1 Nephi 11:17 And I said unto him: I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things.
If we really have faith that God loves us and knows what is best for us, then we will have faith to accept all the parts of His plan: the good parts and the sorrowful parts. We do not know the meaning of all things but our Heavenly Father does.
mine too! I love you Andrea!
