Thursday -- Day 4
This was probably my very favorite day! Everything was much more relaxed and less stressful. It probably had something to do with the fact that we finally figured out which buses to ride and just took it a little easier. That morning we got up and got ready and headed out the door. We met my Mom and Grandma at the bus stop to catch a bus to head to Pier 39 area again so we could catch a harbor tour. We got there right as they were going to board so we hopped on! This was fun because they gave us headphones with an audio of all the things we were seeing. We felt like such tourists... haha! We went under the golden gate bridge and passed Alcatraz. The history of that place is amazing. We decided not to actually go to Alcatraz because we thought the kids would just get bored of it and I'm glad we decided to skip it. But next time, we are going to go because it looks fascinating. After finishing up our tour it was lunch time so we walked down to Fisherman's Wharf where my Grandma got some amazing sea food. You see, I'm not really in to sea food and neither is my mom so we just kept on walking until we found something we wanted to eat. Which happened to be Mexican food. But really it was just an essential step in getting us to Ghirardelli Square where we could eat the best Hot Fudge anyone has ever made EVER! Ok, I'm really not exaggerating either. I should have brought this stuff home by the gallon. Wesley was so funny because every time I tried to semi-clean him up he thought I was taking his cone away and he would have a cow! He knew how good this stuff was! Also, I think he looks like a little puppy dog here! Cutest boy ever!
Yes, she had to have her own...
I don't know if you realized this, but the following pictures will be 4 generations of chocolate lovers... That's pretty impressive. It must be a dominant gene ;)
We decided to ride the trolley to Union Square. Those things are so fun. I was having a blast. Such a fun way to see the city.
Emry was really tired so I had her lay in the stroller while we shopped and within about 5 minutes she was out. She slept for a good 2 hours while we walked around the stores. Poor children on vacation...it's exhausting. We ended up having dinner at the mall food court so everyone could get whatever they wanted. Ryan had a little break before he had to go to his fancy dinner so he met us there to say hi while we ate. On our walk back to the hotel we walked through some gardens and took a picture in front of this cool looking building. Then it was back to the hotel for our last night in San Francisco. My mom and Grandma were flying out early Friday morning so we wouldn't see them again so we said our goodbyes and went to sleep!

Friday -- Day 5
I thought Ryan was done working so we would have all day Friday to play together before our flights left in the afternoon. Well, I was wrong. He had to work all morning so it left me in San Francisco all morning by myself again. I spent the morning packing up all our stuff so we were ready for the flight in the afternoon. Of course that left the kids stuck in a small hotel room with not much to do. Emry did pretty fine entertaining herself but Wesley was a mess. He was so fussy and I knew he needed a morning nap really badly. So after I packed up all our stuff I decided we would just get in the stroller and walk. I thought if we walked around Wesley would fall asleep and have an ok nap before our day of traveling. Well, I was right. We walked and walked until Wesley fell asleep and I found myself at Gap Kids. Hmm... Don't know how that happened. So while Wesley slept in the stroller, Emry and I shopped. Then we stopped at Corner bakery and had an early lunch because I knew we would be dealing with heading to the airport and buses and such during lunch time.
After Ryan was done working he grabbed our bags from the hotel and met us at the BART station to head to the airport. However, he was running a little late and we only made it to the airport like 30 minutes before his flight was supposed to leave. Thankfully, it was a little delayed and he made it with some time to spare. When we planned the trip home, I couldn't get on Ryan's flight (and I kind of didn't want to because it had a layover in LA) so I decided to take a flight that left a little later than his but was nonstop. That left me at the airport for about 2 hours by myself with two little children. This was probably my least favorite part of the whole trip. But we survived and Ryan and I landed about 10 minutes apart from each other in Salt Lake so it all worked out fine.

Eating ice cream at the airport while waiting for our flight to board. I was desperate for something to entertain these kids. Wesley was being so cute and sharing with his sister
All in all, we had a really fun time with some neat experiences but man, it was a lot of work!! If I would have known how much work it was going to have been (and how much I wasn't going to even see Ryan) I probably wouldn't have gone but I'm glad we did because these are some great memories we'll have forever!
